Ricky Burdett appointed Distinguished Fellow and Visiting Professor at the Lee Kuan Yew Centre for Innovative Cities

Director of ÐÓ°ÉÂÛ̳ Cities Ricky Burdett has been appointed Distinguished Fellow and Visiting Professor at the Lee Kuan Yew Centre for Innovative Cities (LKYCIC) in Singapore. In this capacity he will deliver two public lectures:

His inaugral lecture ‘Shaping Cities in an Urban Age’ to celebrate the LKYCIC 10th Anniversary on Wednesday 21 September at the Asian Civilisations Museum. The lecture will be followed by an “In-conversation Dialogue” on how cities can be better prepared to deal withthe perfect storm of challenges ahead. With the collective experience of the eminent panel, we look forward to anafternoon of engaging conversations and insights.

'Designing Equitable Cities' on Thursday 22 September at the Singapore University of Technology and Design (SUTD). This public lecture will consider how the design of our buildings, streets and communities can contribute or frustrate social inclusion and environmental sustainability. It is followed by Panel Discussion, with Prof Ricky BurdettProf Thomas Schroepfer from SUTD Architecture and Sustainability (ASD) Pillar. Moderated by Prof Cheong Koon Hean, Chair of LKYCIC.

The Lee Kuan Yew Centre for Innovative Cities (LKYCIC), a research institute in the Singapore University ofTechnology and Design, was set up to stimulate thinking and research on the critical issues of cities and urbanisation.It aims to explore the integrated use of technology, design and policy to provide urban solutions.
