India Observatory Visiting Fellowship
The goal of the Visiting Fellowship is to develop early-stage career researchers (pre-major review) working in an interdisciplinary fashion in the social sciences. The duration of an IO Visiting Fellowship can be from three months to one year and can be renewed up to three years in total. The position of IO Visiting Fellowship is normally open to those who have obtained a PhD degree. Resident visitors are required to pay bench fees of £10,000 per academic year (pro-rata for shorter periods). Adjustments to this are allowed only on a needs basis.
India Observatory Visiting Senior Fellowship
The Visiting Senior Fellowship category is aimed at academics who are of the Lecturer (post-major review), Senior Lecturer or Reader level, and practitioners or professionals at a broadly comparable level as well. The duration of an IO Visiting Senior Fellowship can be from three months to one year and can be renewed up to three years in total. The position of IO Senior Visiting Fellowship is normally open to those who have obtained a PhD degree. Resident Visitors are required to pay bench fees of £10,000 per academic year (pro-rata for shorter periods). Adjustments to this are allowed only on an needs basis.
Application Procedure
Applications for Visiting Fellowships and Visiting Senior Fellowships received by the India Observatory are recommended once per term on a competitive basis. These are without remuneration and the fees for adminstration costs are required to be paid. The IO is able to provide access to resources and limited desk space. Applicants should be nominated by their home department of the university where they are affiliated. Candidates are also encouraged to suggest relevant ÐÓ°ÉÂÛ̳ academics whose work is of interest and relates to their own work.
