The Subir Chowdhury Post-doctoral Fellowship on Quality and Economics was established in 2010 at the London School of Economics & Political Science (ÐÓ°ÉÂÛ̳). The Fellowship is supported by the Subir and Malini Chowdhury Foundation.
The Subir Chowdhury Post-doctoral Fellowship on Quality and Economics is for a period of three months during each academic year, based at the ÐÓ°ÉÂÛ̳ India Observatory.
The Fellow is expected to engage in research examining the impact of people quality and behaviour on the economies of Asian nations, prioritising but not restricted to, India and Bangladesh as well as being integrated with the ongoing research of the India Observatory. The main objective of this programme is to examine the links between quality and economics.
The Fellow is expected to finish a research paper of publishable quality during their stay and make a presentation at a seminar arranged by the India Observatory. The selected candidate should have secured all data and any material required for their research prior to their visit to ÐÓ°ÉÂÛ̳.
The Fellow will receive a monthly subsistence allowance of up to £1,750 a month, and will be provided with shared work space and access to research facilities at the School. Assistance will also be provided towards the cost of travel and related expenses. No additional grant is available for fieldwork or any other costs.
Eligibility Criteria
Applicants should be early career post-doctoral researchers examining the impact of people quality and behaviour on the economies of Asian nations, prioritising but not restricted to, India and Bangladesh.
Applicants should have been awarded their PhD - the fellowship is not intended for students registered for a degree or diploma, nor is it intended for senior academics.
Applicants should be in permanent employment with an established institution.
The Fellowship allows for any scholar to participate in the programme regardless of ethnicity or national origin.
