I received my PhD in mathematics from Cardiff University at the start of 2022. My thesis entitled “distances to lattice points in rational polyhedra” focused on integer optimisation using tools from the geometry of numbers. In addition to working towards my PhD, I have greatly enjoyed working as a Guest Teacher at the ÐÓ°ÉÂÛ̳ throughout the previous three academic years. During this time I taught MA100 (mathematical methods) and MA103 (introduction to abstract mathematics) and am very grateful to have received several awards for my teaching within the Department to date. In July 2022, I became an ÐÓ°ÉÂÛ̳ Fellow in the Department of Mathematics and during the 2022-23 academic year I am responsible for developing and teaching MA324 (mathematical modelling and simulation).
Before beginning my time at the ÐÓ°ÉÂÛ̳, I studied an undergraduate degree in mathematics and music at the University of Birmingham before completing teaching training (PGDipEd) in secondary mathematics at the same institution. During the subsequent academic year, I worked as a teacher/lecturer with a wide range of students from GCSE and A-level mathematics students at a sixth form college in Birmingham.
