About me

Liora is a Visiting Senior Fellow in the Department of Psychological and Behavioural Science, where she obtained her PhD. Her academic and professional experience spans the fields of social psychology and economics with a specific interest in health-related case studies, which dates back to her early career research in healthcare economics. Liora also has an extensive professional background in accounting, economics and corporate finance, with a BA (Hons) in Economics and Accounting, an Executive Specialised Masters in Coaching & Consulting for Change, an MSc in Economics, and as a licensed CPA.

Her recent academic focus lies in the area of organisational and societal change with a particular emphasis on grassroots activism. Her PhD investigated the application of social movement thinking to large organisations such as the English National Health Service (NHS) using a qualitative approach. The question of how to strategically mobilise collective action to effect change is a problem that many large, complex organisations and social systems face; this problem has been key to Liora’s research. Her current work continues to examine engagement in change processes and the dynamics that drive bottom-up change initiatives.
