About me

Dr Lucia Garcia is Associate Professor in Organisational and Social Psychology and Director of the MSc in Organisational and Social Psychology in the Department of Psychological and Behavioural Science.

Dr Garcia holds the following qualifications: BA, MSc (UPV, Spain); PhD (ÐÓ°ÉÂÛ̳); PgCert in Group Analysis (IGA), PgCert Business Coaching (HBS); Cpsych; AFBPsS; FRSA. She trained as an Organisational Psychologist at the Basque Country University, in northern Spain before coming to London to conduct research towards a PhD on Cultural Change in Organisations. After a few years in the corporate world as a co-developer and manager of a publishing start up; she returned to academia through a number of research and consultancy projects focused on change and transitions in organisations in different contexts: from the changes in health promotion and innovation structures in a network of ; to the new ways of organising and knowledge strategies emerging after restructuring processes within multinational corporations ;  and . Currently she is looking at the particularly difficult transitions between that emerged after the global financial crisis.

In PBS, Dr Garcia co-directs the MSc in Organisational and Social Psychology and convenes the specialist graduate option, Organizational Development (PB433). Dr. Garcia also supervises graduate (MSc and PhD) students working in a diversity of areas related to organisations and organisational life. She is a Chartered Psychologist (Cpsych), an Associated Fellow of the British Psychological Society (AFBPsS) and a Fellow of the Royal Society of Arts (FRSA).
