The abandoned house that lies on the shores of the famous backwaters of Kerala subtly showcases the threat of global warming and rising sea levels. With a sizeable number of Indians residing at coastlines and islands, the Government needs to formulate housing policies to prepare itself against the rising tide.

The ever increasing population poses an additional hurdle to sustainable housing. Will the Indian Government be swamped by the challenges or will it stay afloat?
