In this ÐÓ°ÉÂÛ̳ Alumni Event, organised by the ÐÓ°ÉÂÛ̳ European Institute the panel will discuss the topic of social media and the politicization of Europe.

The European Union is increasingly contested in public spheres. This development comes at a time where the widespread use of social media offers both new opportunities for citizen engagement as well as platforms for the spread of misinformation and hate. Is this double trend of politicization and social media use a curse or a blessing? Are we witnessing the dawn of a more pluralist and participatory Europe or is this the beginning of the demise of European integration?
