This event launches Jonathan White's and Gerard Delanty's new books.
Ideas of the future were central to the making of the modern world and are reshaping today’s societies in an age of emergencies and existential concern. Two new books look at the enduring significance of the imagined world to come: Jonathan White’s (Profile), and Gerard Delanty’s (de Gruyter). This symposium brings together social and political theorists to explore what the future means today, how we got here, and what’s at stake.
