Angelo Martelli currently serves as Programme Director for the ÐÓ°ÉÂÛ̳-Bocconi Double Degree in European and International Public Policy & Politics. He worked as a Consultant for the Jobs Group of the World Bank, as a Policy Fellow for the Open Innovation Team of the UK Cabinet Office and HM Treasury and as a Technical Expert for the IMF. His research interests span labour economics and European political economy, with a particular focus on the impact of technology on the evolution of employment structures across Europe and its implications for labour market institutions and income inequality.
As a Postdoctoral Research Fellow he worked on the ESRC project “Structural reforms and European Integration: Theory, Measurement and Econometric Evidence”. As an Associate at the ÐÓ°ÉÂÛ̳ Institute of Global Affairs he co-led the Global Migration Initiative and was an integral part in the launch of the Alliance of Leading Universities on Migration (ALUM).
Before arriving at the ÐÓ°ÉÂÛ̳ for his PhD he graduated from Pompeu Fabra University with a MSc and Master of Advanced Studies in Economics and pursued a Bachelor’s degree in International Economics and Management at Bocconi University. Former President of the ÐÓ°ÉÂÛ̳ Italian Society. He has published Op-Eds for several international newspapers including WSJ and El Pais.
