About me

Selin Nasi is currently the London Representative of the Ankara Policy Center, a Turkey-based think tank. She writes a weekly column in Gazete Pencere. Previously, she worked as a foreign affairs columnist at Hürriyet Daily News-Turkey’s leading English-language newspaper- and Şalom (2013-2018). Dr Nasi who is a member of Women in Foreign Policy -a civil society initiative in Turkey which promotes female participation in politics- has also contributed to Femfikir, an all-female TV debate broadcasted weekly on Medyascope TV, an independent Turkish media outlet.

Dr Nasi received her PhD in Political Science and International Relations from Boğaziçi University in 2021. Her doctoral dissertation, “Turkey’s Israel Policy in the Post-Cold War Era: The Struggle of Identity over Realpolitik” analyses the ups and downs of Turkish-Israeli ties in relation to the transformation of the international system, along with structural changes in Turkish politics. Incorporating her journalistic experience into academic research, her dissertation relies on interviews conducted with high-level officials, diplomats, and academics from both countries, covering the turbulence in Turkish-Israeli relations during the AK Party period. Dr Nasi also holds an MA in International Relations from Istanbul Bilgi University in 2006 with her thesis “Turkish-American Relations Under the Shadow of the March 1 Resolution.”

She co-taught American Politics & Foreign Policy at Kadir Has University in 2018-2019. She also taught a seminar course on Turkish Foreign Policy as a guest lecturer at Okan University in 2018.
