Chrysa’s research focuses on European Political Economy, on issues of economic inequality, monetary integration, banking, housing and finance. In her PhD thesis she investigated the relationship between the Euro adoption, wealth and income inequality outcomes. Before conducting her PhD studies at the ÐÓ°ÉÂÛ̳'s European Institute, she studied Economics (BSc) and Politics and Economics of South Eastern Europe (Master’s) at the University of Macedonia (Greece). She also worked for two years in the Greek banking sector at the National Bank of Greece. Since 2015 she has taught courses at the ÐÓ°ÉÂÛ̳ on various topics including, International and European Political Economy, Monetary Integration, Inequality and Capitalism. In her current postdoctoral research project at the Hellenic Observatory she examines the evolution of the bank-state ties in Greece during the Economic Adjustment Programmes.
