About me

Dr Kiran Grewal is a human rights lawyer and scholar with 20 years’ experience working in the field. She is the author of two academic monographs: The Socio-Political Practice of Human Rights (Routledge 2016) and Gang Rape and the Reinforcement of Dominant Order: Discourses of Race, Gender and Nation (Routledge 2017). Having worked in a range of post-conflict societies, Kiran’s research has been focused in recent years in Sri Lanka where she has undertaken a range of action research projects exploring post-war rights, justice and democratisation struggles. This research is the topic of her current book projects, one entitled The Everyday Life of Human Rights and the other, Revisiting the Political: Developing Decolonial Political Theory from the Periphery.
