About me

Mazen Gharibah is Research Associate at the Conflict and Civil Society Research Unit in the Department of International Development at the London School of Economics and Political Science. He is part of the Conflict Research Programme at the Unit, working on Syria.

Gharibah’s work focuses on the role of governance during and post conflict. He combines academic research with policy work and strong grassroots experience.

He published on local governance and the perception of legitimacy in Syria. Previously he worked as Lecturer at Brno University and Palacky University in the Check Republic and as governance advisor with Adam Smith International and GIZ and a consultant for several international think tanks.
