Shireen is a PhD candidate in the Department of International Relations and a recipient of the ÐÓ°ÉÂÛ̳ PhD Studentship. Her research interests revolve around gender and nationalisms, particularly in South Asia. Specifically, she is interested in understanding whether (and how) Hindu nationalism is changing the gendered imaginations of India.
Shireen completed a Dual-Master’s from Sciences Po, Paris (Master’s in International Security) and ÐÓ°ÉÂÛ̳ (MSc International Relations). She received the Charpak AME Scholarship by Campus France for her Master’s at Sciences Po. She holds a BA (Honours) Political Science from Miranda House, Delhi University.
Shireen previously gained research experience as Research Assistant to Professor Christophe Jaffrelot on a project on China in the Indo-Pacific, and to Professor Federica Bicchi and Professor Karen Smith on post-Brexit British foreign policy.
