Life at Sciences Po

A part of European heritage, Sciences Po’s multicultural campuses are located in cities with a rich historical and architectural legacy. You will choose from one of the following cities: 

Dijon

The  is located in the beautiful Burgundy region. It accommodates around 160 students. More than 40 percent of these are from outside France.

Exchange students can choose from a wide range of courses taught in French or English in the humanities and social sciences: law, economics, history, humanities, political science, sociology, and international relations. They can also take  and seminars corresponding to the geographical minor of the campus dedicated to Latin America and the Caribbean.

Le Havre

Located in Normandy,  is France's biggest port. It is historically linked to Asia as the entry point for Asian products arriving in France.

The Le Havre campus accommodates around 300 students, more than 65 percent of whom are from outside France. 

Exchange students can choose from a wide range of courses taught in French or English in the humanities and social sciences: law, economics, history, humanities, political science, sociology, and international relations. They can also take language classes and seminars corresponding to the geographical minor of the campus dedicated to the Asia and Pacific region.

Menton

Located on the French Riviera, in a historic nineteenth-century Italian-inspired building facing the Mediterranean, the  accommodates around 350 students, more than 65 percent of whom are from outside France.

Exchange students can choose from a wide range of courses taught in French or English in the humanities and social sciences: law, economics, history, humanities, political science, sociology, and international relations. They can also take  and seminars corresponding to the geographical minor of the campus dedicated to the Mediterranean region and the Middle East.

Nancy

Close to Germany and Luxembourg, Nancy is a city with a strong European flavour and international perspective. The  accommodates more than 300 students, over half of whom are from outside France.

Exchange students can choose from a wide range of courses taught in French and in English in the humanities and social sciences: law, economics, history, humanities, political science, sociology, and international relations. They can also take  and seminars corresponding to the geographical minor of the campus dedicated to the European Union and the Franco-German partnership.

Poitiers

Located in the heart of the city of Poitiers, Sciences Po’s  accommodates around 260 students, more than 30 percent of whom are from outside France.

Reims

Each semester, , in the heart of the Champagne region, welcomes between 150 and 200 exchange students.

These students can choose from a wide range of courses taught in French or in English in the humanities and social sciences: law, economics, history, humanities, political science, sociology, and international relations. They can also take  and seminars corresponding to the two geographical minors of the campus : Africa minor and North America minor.

Study during your year abroad

Study at Sciences Po is focused around the study of : law, economics, history, political humanities, political science and sociology, and complemented by a regional specialisation in each campuses.

You must select one French language class and one sociology course. You may choose to add other courses but be aware that you will have to take the exams for these too.

By Sciences Po’s regulations, attendance to all classes is compulsory and you are expected to be active participants.

The 6 regional Sciences Po campuses offer a vibrant city feel with an authentic immersion in French culture and also host an engaged and animated student community that leads a full intellectual and extracurricular life. Students are encouraged  - conferences, debates, artistic and sporting events and to initiate projects that engage with the wider community, often in collaboration with local institutions.

Please remember this important information from your programme regulations:

Students must pass all assessments set by Sciences Po in order to be eligible for the award of the degree.

Where a student fails an assessment they will be provided a resit either at Sciences Po at the end of the year abroad or when they are back in London at the start of the final year of the programme.
