Dr James Irving, who convenes the LLM course "The International Law of Self-Determination", was recently a panelist on the BBC's Newshour Extra programme entitled "Why Secede?". He was also one of four experts featured on BBC's The Inquiry programme "Who Gets to Have Their Own Country?", and he participated in a Radio 5 Live News panel. In addition, he has been interviewed by ORF, the Austrian public broadcaster, and by TBS Radio in Seoul, South Korea.
