Dr Jiaqing (Kathy) Sun is an Assistant Professor at the ÐÓ°ÉÂÛ̳’s Department of Management. She was awarded her Ph.D. in Management from the University of Illinois at Chicago (UIC) and her Ph.D. in Social Psychology from Beijing Normal University. Prior to her appointment at ÐÓ°ÉÂÛ̳, Dr. Sun was a Senior Lecturer in the Department of Management at Monash Business School.
Dr. Sun’s research focuses on the emotional and attributional processes underlying leader-follower interactions. Specifically, her research explores how employees and their leaders perceive their relationships and interpret what happens between them. Her recent research sheds light on employees’ feelings of gratitude relating to leaders’ behaviors, especially for the special treatment received from servant leaders. Her papers have appeared in the top journals, such as Journal of Applied Psychology and Journal of Personality and Social Psychology. She is the recipient of the Society of Industrial and Organizational Psychology (SIOP) Graduate Scholarship and was awarded as a Greenleaf Scholar by the Greenleaf Center for Servant leadership.
Dr. Sun is keen to expand on her existing collaborations with like-minded scholars in the field of emotions (e.g., envy and gratitude), attributions, and servant leadership.
