About me

Dr. Lidiia Pletneva is an Assistant Professor of Management with a focus on Organisational Behaviour at the London School of Economics. She joined the Department in August 2023 after receiving her PhD in Organisational Behaviour from ESSEC Business School, France.

Dr. Pletneva uses qualitative methods to explore the impact of personal critical events on professional life. Her current research focus is on grief-inducing events and how work can help an individual move through such an experience, as well as how this experience affects work identity and professional life overall.

Dr. Pletneva’s research has been published in the Academy of Management Journal and has been nominated for and won several awards within the Academy of Management (AoM) and Emotions and Worklife (EMONET) conferences.

Prior to obtaining her PhD, Dr. Pletneva taught Russian language and culture at Colorado College, Colorado. In addition, she has several years of experience in staff development and project management.
