About me

Katie Best, PhD, is a Leadership Coach and Consultant, and Visiting Fellow at the London School of Economics and Political Science in the Department of Management. Katie has more than 15 years’ experience in the field of university and executive education. In her work for ÐÓ°ÉÂÛ̳, she is Head Tutor on MBA Essentials, Chief Examiner on Core Management Concepts, and assists with the Masters in Management programme.

She completed her PhD at King’s College London Management Department (now Business School) in 2009, focused on workplace communication and management. Dr. Best is also a Visiting Research Fellow at King’s College London Business School, and has lectured at ÐÓ°ÉÂÛ̳, Cass Business School, King’s College London Business School and Hanken School of Economics.

Katie coaches leaders on change, strategic leadership, communication, engagement and effectiveness. She also creates bespoke leadership development programmes for organisations to help them improve leadership practice and drive change. Most of her work takes place through her own practice, KatieBest Associates, but she also partners with other consultancies and coaching practices, too.

Dr. Best has worked with clients in sectors including law, accounting, consultancy, tech, pharmaceutical, creative, education, charitable and public sector. Her clients have included Ropes & Gray, Lewis Silkin, Mishcon de Reya, Simmons & Simmons, EY, KPMG, RSM, Goldman Sachs, Barclays, Verizon, NHS, ICAEW, Pearson, Royal College of Anaesthetists, The Storytellers, Eruditus and the V&A. She is an ICF-accredited Executive Coach.

Dr. Best’s academic research – focused on leadership, communication and strategy – has been published in top-ranked journals in the fields of Management and Social Sciences, and she has contributed to many books with chapters on strategy and leadership. She is an established public speaker on those topics and is currently writing a book on improving the work of middle leaders.
