Research Projects

The Kuwait Programme conducts and facilitates original research into fundamental questions in the social sciences of relevance to Kuwait. Research is carried out by Centre staff, academics based in other ÐÓ°ÉÂÛ̳ departments and by Visiting Fellows from Kuwait and the GCC.

The Programme currently runs the following research projects:

Utilising Applied Behavioural Research to Execute Subsidy Reform in Kuwait

This research project brings together Kuwait University and ÐÓ°ÉÂÛ̳ to work on a collaboration that aims to identify methods of applied behavioural research through which Kuwait’s government can successfully implement sustainable economic reform.

The Social Safety Net in Kuwait

This research project will evaluate and assess the existing social safety net eco-system in Kuwait in terms of existing legal, fiscal and institutional setup, policies, programmes and their implementation arrangements and the degree of their effectiveness and impact of the current social contract.
