MPA Introductory Course

Availability
This course is compulsory on the Double Master of Public Administration (ÐÓ°ÉÂÛ̳-Columbia), Double Master of Public Administration (ÐÓ°ÉÂÛ̳-University of Toronto) and Master of Public Administration. This course is not available as an outside option.
Course content
This course provides an introduction to a range of essential skills and basic concepts required for the MPA programmes. The course incorporates a number of sessions delivered during Welcome to give students of all abilities a general introduction to key areas of the programme.
This includes an introduction to basic mathematical and statistical concepts for use in core courses in economics and quantitative approaches.
The course also includes sessions on academic writing and presentation skills.
Teaching
The course runs during the two weeks prior to the start of the Autumn Term.

Students will be advised of readings and other course materials at the beginning of the course.
