Availability

This course is compulsory on the BSc in Economic History, BSc in Economic History with Economics and BSc in Economics and Economic History. This course is available on the BSc in Economics with Economic History. This course is not available as an outside option nor to General Course students.

Course content

The subject of the dissertation should relate broadly to one of the economic history courses that have been chosen. This course consists of two intensive workshops where students present their research questions and preliminary findings. The first workshop will be in the 9th week of Michaelmas term and the second in the 7th week of Lent term. These workshops serve to recap the dissertation related materials covered in EH237 and to provide feedback on dissertation research. Both of these workshops are compulsory.

Assessment

Dissertation (90%, 10000 words) and dissertation draft (5%) in the LT.
Proposal (5%) in the MT.

The dissertation must not exceed 10,000 words in length. After being marked, the dissertation will not be returned to the candidate.
