Availability

This course is compulsory on the MPhil/PhD in Economic Geography, MPhil/PhD in Environmental Economics, MPhil/PhD in Environmental Policy and Development, MPhil/PhD in Human Geography and Urban Studies and MPhil/PhD in Regional and Urban Planning Studies. This course is not available as an outside option.

Attendance is compulsory for all MPhil/PhD students in the Department of Geography and Environment, unless a student is conducting approved fieldwork.

Course content

Presentations by research students of aspects of their own research, stressing problems of theory, methodology and techniques.

Teaching

A series of workshops, running throughout the year, organised by each of the three research clusters in the Department of Geography & Environment (Economic Geography; Environmental Economics & Policy; Urbanisation, Planning and Development).

Formative coursework

All students attending this course will be required to present their own research once each year.

Assessment

This course is not intended as preparation for any particular examination.
