Information Systems PhD Seminar Series and Workshops

Availability

This course is compulsory on the MRes/PhD in Management (Information Systems and Innovation). This course is available on the MRes/PhD in Management (Information Systems and Innovation). This course is not available as an outside option.

This course consists of a series of seminars and workshops at which PhD students present their work in progress.

Course content

This seminar series provides a forum for research students in management to present work in progress. Outside speakers may be invited from time to time.

Teaching

20 hours of lectures in the MT. 20 hours of lectures in the LT.

For 2018/19 this will consist of a weekly, two hour, student-led seminar in weeks 2-10 of Michaelmas and Lent term. There will also be one full-day PhD workshop with a guest speaker MT & LT. Details of these workshops are to be emailed to students and staff as they are arranged.

Assessment

There is no formal assessment but all students are expected to attend the one day workshops and must email the course teacher to explain any absences. Attendance at the weekly seminars is more flexible but students should make an effort to attend as many as possible and to be involved in the organisation of at least one per year.
