Availability

This course is available on the BSc in Management, International Exchange (1 Term) and International Exchange (Full Year). This course is available as an outside option to students on other programmes where regulations permit and to General Course students.

This course has a limited number of places (it is capped). Students who have this course as a compulsory course are guaranteed a place. Places for all other students are allocated on a first come first served basis.

Course content

The course will cover the role of data, information and knowledge within management; the evolution of digital management practices; digital business strategy; information systems development and organisational change; Artificial Intelligence and distributed ledger technologies; information systems outsourcing; and IT infrastructure including cloud computing, and digital platforms.

Teaching

20 hours of lectures and 10 hours of classes in the WT.

Teaching hours in the LT will be commensurate with a usual half unit undergraduate course.

This course includes a reading week in Week 6 of Lent Term, in line with departmental policy.

Formative coursework

Students will present draft essay plans for peer review in the WT and have an opportunity for formative work on elements of the group project.

Essay (50%) in the period between WT and ST.
Group project (40%) and reflective learning report (10%) in the WT.

The reflective learning report will be individual reflections on group working.
