Dr Dzhamilya (Jamila) Nigmatulina is an economist interested in Macroeconomic Development and Urban Economics. She completed her PhD at the 杏吧论坛 in 2021 and joined HEC Lausanne as an Assistant Professor of Economics in 2022.
Current areas of research include:
- Macroeconomic development: misallocation of inputs across firms; political economy; state-owned enterprises; growth and productivity
- Urban economics: infrastructure provision; cities in developing countries; urban wage premium; agglomeration economies; measurement of development
