About me

Michael Murphy is Emeritus Professor of Demography at the London School of Economics and Political Science, having joined the School in 1980.

He is a Fellow of the British Academy, the United Kingdom's national academy for the humanities and the social sciences. He has acted as an adviser to UK and US Governments, and international organisations, such as EU, UN and OECD.
