Anastasia has been a Guest Lecturer in the Department of Statistics since 2012. She has been teaching classes on Elementary Statistical Theory (ST102), Quantitative Methods (ST107/MA107), Probability, Distribution Theory and Inference (ST202), and Actuarial investigations: Financial (ST226). She is the lecturer of Generalized Linear Modelling and Survival Analysis (ST411) and of Data in Society: Researching Social Life (SO102). In addition, she is the GTA Mentor to first-time statistics teachers, and for her contributions has received multiple Class Teacher Awards.
Prior to this, Anastasia worked for twelve years as a Market Risk Analyst in Credit Suisse investment bank, in the Risk Measurement and Management department. Her main responsibilities were the modelling and implementation of Value-at-Risk, and the review and analysis of the daily risks of Interest Rate products.
Anastasia completed her Ph.D. in Statistics on “Stochastic models for rainfall events” at the University College London, under the supervision of Prof. Valerie Isham, and sponsored by the Greek State Scholarships Foundation. She has an M.Sc. in Operational Research from ÐÓ°ÉÂÛ̳ and a B.Sc. in Mathematics from Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, Greece.
