The European Institute's current masters cohort is proud to have an EDI team made up of student representatives and ambassadors.

These students collaborate with staff and their fellow EI students on projects and initiatives that relate to our EDI goals.

EI's ÐÓ°ÉÂÛ̳ Congress Team 2022/23

is a simulation activity where students are invited to explore how ÐÓ°ÉÂÛ̳’s research can contribute to the progress towards the UN 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development.

Working as a team representing the European Institute, and supported by staff from the Eden Centre, our students engaged in a series of structured activities across the year, culminating in a one-day summit – the meeting of ÐÓ°ÉÂÛ̳ Congress – during which they demonstrated how the research they conducted can be used to shape the policy agenda. During this summit, our students, Chloe Halsted and Yijing Xiao, were part of the winning team for Best Final Presentation.

EU450 Engaging with Europe: Professional Skills

EI Applied Research Internship: Decolonising the Taught Curriculum

This series of workshops gives MSc students the opportunity to conduct research that will support the European Institute in working towards its goal of decolonizing curricula.

The research conducted by our students will contribute to a staff led project that will form recommendations to support the department in evaluating its teaching programmes.

ÐÓ°ÉÂÛ̳ Change Makers 2021/22

During the 2021/22 academic year a project was carried out by a master’s student on behalf of the European Institute. This project focused on gaining the student perspective on the decolonization of curricula in the European Institute. The result of this research was a written report that included actionable recommendations for the European Institute to consider going forward.

The Balkans in Europe

The Balkans: Crossing Borders and Connecting Bridges

June 2021

During the 2020/21 academic year two of the European Institute's MSc students organised a conference focused on the Balkans.

Speakers included; Dr Spyros Economides, Dr Denisa Kostovicova, Dr Vassilis Monastiriotis, Dr Abby Innes, Dr Vesna Bojičić-Dželilović, Dr Ivor Sokolić, and Amb. Nicola Minasi.
