About me

Jeanette L. Kaiser is currently pursuing a PhD in Environmental Policy and Development at the London School of Economics and Political Science (ÐÓ°ÉÂÛ̳). Through her PhD research she will be assessing how the principles of climate resilience are being embedded into the organizational culture, decision-making, and practice of local, national, and international non-governmental organizations operating in the development sector of Zambia, Tanzania, and Malawi. She will examine what contextual and institutional factors influence how and why this shift has or has not occurred.

Prior to arriving at ÐÓ°ÉÂÛ̳, Ms. Kaiser obtained a Bachelor of Arts in International Affairs and Environmental Studies from The George Washington University and a Master’s degree in Public Health from Boston University. Additionally, she holds a Graduate Certificate in African Studies from Boston University.

Professionally, she worked as a Senior Research Fellow in the Global Health Department at Boston University for nearly a decade where she conducted mixed-method impact and process evaluations focusing on access to and quality of health services primarily in sub-Saharan Africa. She resided in Zambia for 5 cumulative years, with additional time spent in South Africa and Lesotho. Ms. Kaiser continues to consult with Boston University and has consulted for UNICEF, conducting qualitative data analysis of a Measles Rubella vaccination campaign process evaluation in Senegal. She has published over 30 research articles in multiple high-impact journals including the British Journal of Obstetrics and Gynecology, BMJ Global Health and Social Science and Medicine. Additionally, Ms. Kaiser has mentored 3 doctoral candidates during their fieldwork and data analysis as well as over a dozen masters students at Boston University.
