We are holding a week of Welcome events to help you meet your peers and get settled into the IR community.

If you're not sure where rooms are, you can use the Student Hub app campus map to find them or Maps and Information for ÐÓ°ÉÂÛ̳ Buildings.

You will be able to see your personalised Welcome events calendar from early September in the .

Welcome events for undergraduate students

 

 

Monday 23 September

  • 10.00-11.00am in the Peacock Theatre
    Department of International Relations Welcome Address
    Join a panel of IR faculty who will be discussing a broad-ranging, topical question. Immerse yourself in the IR community to kick-start the Welcome experience.

Tuesday 24 September

  • 3.00-5.30pm in Room CLM.2.02
    BSc IR induction and reception
     - this mandatory session is an opportunity to talk to the Departmental Tutor, teaching and PSS staff and ask questions, and to meet your peers over some light refreshment.  

Wednesday 25 September

  • 11.00-12.00am in Room MAR.2.06
    General Course and GO ÐÓ°ÉÂÛ̳ induction
     - this mandatory session is an opportunity to talk to the Departmental Tutor and a member of the PSS staff, and ask questions.

Friday 27 September

  • 11.00am-2.00pm: At this optional treasure hunt around London, you join forces with the people on your programme to find the hidden treasure. We'll circulate enrolment and joining details via email. There will be a prize for the winning team!

    The IR Undergraduate Party! 
    – join new and returning undergraduate students in the evening at a bar off-campus for a celebratory party for all IR undergraduate students! Enrolment details will be circulated via email. 

Wednesday 2 October

  • 3.00-4.30pm at Sheffield Street in Room G02
    IR Undergraduate Common Room drop-in 
    Come and see your IR Common Room at Sheffield Street G02 (UG). Drop-in any time between 3.00pm-4.30pm on Wednesday 2 October to see the space and have some snacks with your fellow IR students. 

Thursday 3 October

  • 4.00-6.00pm Games Night in ÐÓ°ÉÂÛ̳ LIFE Workspace 4
    Come along to a games night in ÐÓ°ÉÂÛ̳ LIFE Workspace 4 hosted by the Department of International Relations! This will be another great chance to meet other students studying on your programme. The room will be outfitted with several games including tabletop ping pong, foosball, and pool, and a selection of board and card games. Open to all IR students, information on how to sign up will be sent to you soon.

    Graduate Course Selection opens for browsing at 10am on Monday and PSS staff will hold a Zoom call to answer any questions.

    Induction for students on ÐÓ°ÉÂÛ̳-Sciences Po Double Degree in Affaires Internationales 
    - this mandatory session is an introduction from the Programme Director and a chance to ask questions and find out how to make the best of your time at ÐÓ°ÉÂÛ̳.

    IR Postgraduate Common Room

    MSc IR Research and MSc IPE Research Meet Up
    A chance for the research student cohort to meet and connect during Welcome over tea and biscuits.

    Informal lunch for incoming IR PhD students with the PhD team, followed by an in-person tour of the Department.

Tuesday 24 September

    Welcome meeting and orientation for new PhD students 
    - this is the programme induction and will feature speakers from key support services for doctoral students followed by a Q&A session. 
  • 12.30-2.00pm in the IR Department kitchen, CBG.9.16
    Informal pizza lunch
    for all current IR PhD students with the PhD team.
