Marshall Scholarship - opens January 2025

The Marshall Institute is delighted to offer a scholarship scheme for outstanding candidates applying to study the Executive MSc Social Business and Entrepreneurship programme. Scholarship applications must be submitted by 19th May 2025 for EMSBE offer holders starting the programme in September 2025. More details on how to apply are below.

Scholarship Amount

Three full awards of £36,000 are available to cover tuition fees for 2025 entry for outstanding candidates. Some partial awards covering 50% of fees are also available on a discretionary basis.

Eligibility

Scholarships will be awarded based on the following criteria:

  • The candidate has received a conditional or unconditional offer of admission to study on the Executive MSc Social Business and Entrepreneurship programme (code N2UC). Please see the ‘How to apply’ section below for information on application timelines.
  • The candidate demonstrates prior academic excellence or aptitude.
  • The candidate shows evidence of creative contributions in, and commitment to, the fields of social entrepreneurship, social business, corporate social business, and/or nonprofit organisations.
  • The candidate demonstrates the long-term benefits of the programme to their sector or region.
  • The candidate demonstrates that their background and professional experience will enhance the classroom learning environment.

Preference will be given to candidates from emerging or developing markets and/or those from the third sector, the public sector, and social enterprises.

One full-award scholarship is reserved for a candidate working at the forefront of an impact-first organisation that has applied to one of  cohort schemes.

How to apply

Step 1

If you wish to be considered for a scholarship on the EMSBE programme, you will need to submit an application for admission on the programme, via ÐÓ°ÉÂÛ̳ Graduate Admissions. For your scholarship application to be considered, you must have received a conditional or unconditional offer of a place on the EMSBE programme for entry in September 2025.


The timeline for a decision on a programme offer can take up to 8 weeks although we are typically able to make decisions more quickly than that. Step 2

To apply for the scholarship, you will need to complete the . The deadline to complete the scholarship application form is 19th May 2025.


All scholarship decisions will be made and communicated by mid-June 2025. All decisions will be sent by email to the address supplied on your scholarship application form. Please ensure that our domain name – lse.ac.uk – is added to your safe senders list and routinely check your junk/spam folders.
