Migration and the Digital City

The symposium brings together a very interesting group of scholars working on migration in the city and/or migrant digital communication and marks the nearing end of the research project ‘Digital Makings in the City of Refuge.’ 

The keynote will be delivered by Professor Engin Isin (Queen Mary) on “Decolonising Data Politics”. Other speakers include: Professor Marie Gillespie (The Open University), Prfessor Elena Fiddian-Qasmiyeh (UCL; RefugeeHosts), Dr Koen Leurs (Utrecht University), Kevin Smets (Vrije Universiteit Brussel), Dr Tatiana Thieme (UCL; Project Camps 2 Cities), and others, including the project team (Myria Georgiou, Suzanne Hall, Deena Dajani) and the project’snon-academic partners Proboscis (Giles Lane) and Counterpoints Arts (Marcia Chandra).  

The symposium will run from 9:15 am to 5:15 am at Fawcett House 9.04. It is free to attend and open to all, but please register in advance by emailing Kristina Kolbe at K.J.Kolbe@lse.ac.uk.
