If English is not your first language, there are plenty of ways you can improve and practise using the English language for your academic work.
English for Academic Writing courses are available for any undergraduate or postgraduate student who does not have English as a first language and would like a weekly English language class to help with academic writing for coursework.
As an undergraduate student you may be eligible to take a language, literature or linguistics course as part of your degree programme. You may also be able to receive a language specialism attached to your degree certificate and transcript.

Any ÐÓ°ÉÂÛ̳ student can sign up for an modern language non degree course. We offer courses in nine different languages and most are available from Absolute Beginners through to an Advanced Level.

As part of the ÐÓ°ÉÂÛ̳ Language Policy, if you are a UK/EU undergraduate student at ÐÓ°ÉÂÛ̳ please remember you can claim your entitlement to a free language course during your time at ÐÓ°ÉÂÛ̳ if you do not have a GCSE grade 4 (or equivalent) in a language which is not your mother tongue.
Follow the normal registration procedure to register for your course and then you can claim the course fee back.
